Fuel Injectors & Fuel Rails: Removal

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove PCV hose. Disconnect vacuum hose from pressure regulator. Disconnect fuel return hose from fuel return pipe. Release fuel pressure at filter. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE.
  2. Disconnect fuel inlet pipe union bolt at fuel rail. Remove accelerator cable bracket and wiring harness protector. Disconnect injector connectors. Remove air intake chamber support bracket. Loosen 2 bolts retaining fuel rail to cylinder head.
  3. Remove fuel rail with injectors attached. Remove 2 fuel rail spacers and 4 injector insulators from head. Pull injectors from fuel rail.
