Removal & Installation

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Drain engine coolant. Disconnect throttle cable (A/T) and accelerator cable from throttle body linkage. Label and disconnect vacuum hoses from throttle body. Disconnect Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) connector. Remove air cleaner intake duct connector clamps, and remove duct hose.
  2. Remove 2 bolts, 2 nuts and throttle body with gasket. Note position of gasket for installation reference. Disconnect 2 coolant by-pass hoses and 2 air hoses from throttle body. Remove throttle body,
  3. Connect 2 coolant by-pass hoses and 2 air hoses to throttle body. Install NEW gasket with protrusion toward TPS side. Tighten throttle body bolts and nuts to 115 INCH lbs. (13 N.m). To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Check for fuel leakage. See CHECKING FOR FUEL LEAKS.
