Diagnosis & Repair

  1. Ensure ignition is off. Connect jumper wire between DLC1 terminals TE2 and E1. Turn ignition on. Connect another jumper wire between DLC1 terminals TE1 and E1. See Figure.
  2. Check if Code 43 is output. Start engine. Check if Code 43 no longer appears. If code is not output, check circuit between starter relay and ECM for short. If code is still output, go to next step.
  3. Inspect circuit between ECM and starter relay for open. Repair as needed. If circuit is okay, replace ECM and retest.
