Circuit Description
The distributor contains one pick-up coil and G2 signal coil. The G2 signal pick-up coil sends the ECM standard camshaft position. The NE signal pick-up coil sends the ECM crankshaft angle and engine speed. The NE signal pick-up is located near crankshaft pulley. Code is set when there is no G2 and NE signal to ECM within 4 seconds after cranking and/or no G2 signal to ECM for 5 seconds with engine speed of 600 RPM or more. Possible causes are:
- G2 and NE open or short circuit.
- Distributor pick-up coil.
- Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor.
- STA open or short circuit.
- ECM.
