Code Detection Test Drive (Except Calif.)

  1. Ensure ignition is off. Remove EFI (15-amp) fuse for at least 10 seconds. Reinstall fuse. Start engine and warm to normal operating temperature.
  2. Run engine at 2000 RPM for 3 minutes. Allow engine to idle for 2 minutes ("D" position for A/T). Turn ignition off for at least 3 seconds.
  3. Start engine. Run engine at 2000 RPM for 3 minutes. Allow engine to idle for 2 minutes ("D" position for A/T). Turn ignition off. If malfunction exists, MIL will illuminate while engine is idling.
