Code Detection Test Drive (Except Calif.)

  1. Ensure ignition switch is off. Disconnect EFI fuse for 10 seconds or more. Reinstall fuse. Start engine and operate until engine reaches normal operating temperature.
  2. Idle engine for 3 minutes. Turn A/C on. Drive vehicle at 55-60 MPH on flat road for 4 minutes. Stop vehicle and turn off ignition for at least 3 seconds. Idle engine for 3 minutes. Drive vehicle at 55-60 MPH on flat road for 4 minutes. Stop vehicle. If malfunction exists, MIL will illuminate during test drive.
