Circuit Description

VAF sensor uses a spring loaded air door that is connected to a variable resistor. Resistance values change as air volume changes. Code is set when ECM detects a open or short circuit. Possible causes are:

• MAF open or short circuit.
• MAF sensor malfunction.
• ECM malfunction.
