Ignition System: Distributor: Removal

Disconnect electrical connector at distributor. Disconnect spark plug wires from distributor cap. Remove distributor cap.
Rotate crankshaft pulley clockwise until groove on crankshaft pulley aligns with "0" mark on timing chain cover to position cylinder No. 1 (front cylinder) at TDC on compression stroke. Ensure rotor is properly positioned. See Fig 1. If rotor is not properly positioned, rotate crankshaft pulley clockwise one full revolution.
Remove distributor hold-down bolts and distributor. Remove "O" ring from distributor housing.
