Circuit Description

The sub-TP sensor is variable resistor that monitors throttle opening. The sub-TP sensor is used for traction control system. The sub-throttle valve is opened or closed by the sub-throttle actuator according to signals from the Traction Control (TRAC) ECU. DTC is set when ECM detects open or short in sub-TP sensor circuit. Possible causes are:

NOTE: If DTCs 22, 24 and 41 are output together, inspect ECM terminal E2 (ground) circuit. Repair as necessary. See appropriate wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
