Disassembly & Reassembly

  1. Remove screws, fuel cut-off valve retainer and fuel cut-off valve from fuel pump mounting bracket. Fuel cut-off valve is the round shaped valve located on fuel pump mounting bracket. Fuel cut-off valve retainer is the round ring that holds fuel cut-off valve on fuel pump mounting bracket.
  2. Disconnect electrical wires for fuel gauge sending unit from fuel pump mounting bracket. Remove screws and fuel gauge sending unit from fuel pump mounting bracket.
  3. Pull bottom of fuel pump from fuel pump mounting bracket. Disconnect electrical connector at fuel pump. Disconnect fuel hose at top of fuel pump. Remove fuel pump with rubber cushion, located at bottom of fuel pump, from fuel pump mounting bracket.
  4. Using small screwdriver, remove retaining clip that holds fuel filter on bottom of fuel pump. Remove fuel filter from fuel pump. To reassemble, reverse disassembly procedure using NEW retaining clip on fuel filter. Tighten fuel cut-off valve retainer screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table.
