Diagnosis & Repair

  1. Access ECM under driver's seat. Start engine. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 2 (Blue/Black wire) at ECM E7 connector. See Figure. Less than one minute after starting engine, voltage should be 9-14 volts. More than one minute after starting engine, voltage should be 0-3 volts. If voltage is as specified, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified, replace ECM and retest.
  2. Check fuel relay. See SYSTEM/COMPONENT TESTS article. Replace fuel pump relay as necessary. If relay is okay, repair wiring harness between fuel pump relay and ECM. See appropriate wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
