Test No. 6: Key Unlock Warning Switch Circuit: Testing

  1. Check operation of key unlock warning switch. See KEY UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH  under COMPONENT TESTS. If key unlock warning switch operates properly, go to step  2. If key unlock warning switch is faulty, replace key unlock warning switch. See STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article for 1999 models and STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article for 2000 models.
  2. Check for faulty connectors and wiring between key unlock warning switch and body ECU. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
  3. Repair wiring or connectors as necessary. If connectors and wiring are okay, go to next test listed in appropriate SYMPTOM INDEX table under TROUBLE SHOOTING .
