A/C Control Assembly Power & Ground Circuits

  1. Remove A/C control assembly. See A/C CONTROL ASSEMBLY  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Using DVOM connected to appropriate A/C control assembly harness connector terminals, check power and ground circuits as specified. See A/C CONTROL ASSEMBLY HARNESS CONNECTOR SPECIFICATIONS  table. See Fig 1. If readings are as specified, go to next step. If readings are not as specified, repair affected circuit as necessary and retest system.
  2. Substitute known-good A/C control assembly and retest system. If problem is fixed, replace original A/C control assembly. If problem is still present, reinstall original A/C control assembly and go to TESTING A/C CONTROL ASSEMBLY INPUTS .
A/C CONTROL ASSEMBLY HARNESS CONNECTOR SPECIFICATIONS

Test Between Terminals No. Condition Result
A1-Ground Under All Conditions Continuity
A4-Ground Ignition On B+ Voltage
Ignition Off Zero Volts
A5-Ground Under All Conditions B+ Voltage
A13-Ground Ignition Switch Turned To ACC B+ Voltage
Ignition Off Zero Volts
B11-Ground Under All Conditions Continuity
B10-B20 Evaporator Temperature At 77°F (25°C) 1.5 K/Ohms
