Test I: Position Sensor Power Source Circuit

  1. Remove power seat control ECU from under driver's seat, with harness connectors still connected. Using a DVOM, check voltage between ground and power seat control ECU connector P21 terminal No. 5, while operating power seat control switch and moving seat. See Figure. If voltage is 7.2-8.8 volts, go to TEST D: POWER SEAT CONTROL ECU . If voltage is not 7.2-8.8 volts, go to next step.
  2. Check for an open or short in Red wire or connectors between power seat control ECU and seat position sensors. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If an open or short was found, repair as necessary and retest circuit to verify repair. If an open or short was not found, check and replace power seat control ECU. See TEST D: POWER SEAT CONTROL ECU .
