Daytime Running Light Relay
- Ensure ignition is off. Remove Daytime Running Light (DRL) relay No. 2, 3 or 4. DRL relays are located in fuse/relay box as passenger's side front corner of engine compartment, just behind headlight assembly. See Fig 1.
- To check DRL relay No. 2 or 4, note identification of electrical terminals on DRL relay. See Fig 2. Using ohmmeter, check that no continuity exists between terminals No. 1 and 2 on DRL relay. Check that continuity exists between terminals No. 3 and 4 on DRL relay. Using jumper wires, apply battery voltage and ground to terminals No. 3 and 4 on DRL relay. Check that continuity now exists between terminals No. 1 and 2 on DRL relay. Replace DRL relay if defective.
- To check DRL relay No. 3, note identification of electrical terminals on DRL relay. See Fig 2. Using ohmmeter, check that continuity exists between terminals No. 1 and 2, and 3 and 4 on DRL relay No. 3. Using jumper wires, apply battery voltage and ground to terminals No. 1 and 2 on DRL No. 3 relay. Check that continuity now exists between terminals No. 3 and 5 on DRL No. 3 relay. Replace DRL No. 3 relay if defective.
