Test No. 12: Stoplight & Taillight Do Not Operate In Rear Combination Light Assembly
NOTE:
Rear combination light assembly is the entire taillight assembly consisting of taillight, stoplight and side marker light.
- Check light bulb on the light that is not operating. If light bulb is okay, go to next step. If bulb is defective, replace light bulb and recheck light operation.
- Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect electrical connector at light failure sensor. Light failure sensor is located at passenger's side of the trunk and contains a 12-pin electrical connector. See Figure.
- Note terminal identification on electrical connector for light failure sensor. See Fig 1. Using ohmmeter and voltmeter, check for continuity and voltage between body ground and specified terminals at wiring harness side of electrical connector for light failure sensor under specified conditions. See LIGHT FAILURE SENSOR SPECIFICATIONS table. If all readings are as specified, replace light failure sensor and recheck light operation. If any reading is not as specified, diagnose and repair faulty wiring circuit as necessary. See WIRING DIAGRAMS in EXTERIOR LIGHTS article.
