Remote Transmitter Registration
NOTE:
ADD mode allows new remote transmitters to be added, up to a maximum of 4. Attempting to register more than 4 remote transmitters will cause the first remote transmitter registered to be erased. REWRITE mode erases previous codes on all remote transmitters and recodes them. CONFIRMATION mode is used to determine how many remote transmitters are currently registered. PROHIBITION mode disables keyless door lock function by erasing all remote transmitter codes.
- Ensure key is not in ignition and open driver's door. Close and lock all other doors. Insert key into ignition switch and pull it out. Within 40 seconds, move inside door lock control switch from LOCK to UNLOCK position 5 times at about one-second intervals. Close driver's door and open it. Go to next step.
- Within 40 seconds, depress any door lock/unlock control switch 5 times at about one-second intervals. Insert key into ignition switch and go to next step.
- To put system into ADD mode, turn ignition switch from ON to LOCK position one time, 2 times at one-second intervals to choose REWRITE mode, 3 times to choose CONFIRMATION mode and 5 times to choose PROHIBITION mode. Remove key from ignition and go to next step.
- Within 3 seconds wireless door lock ECU will automatically perform LOCK/UNLOCK operation to inform operator which mode has been selected. If ADD mode was selected, wireless door lock ECU will perform LOCK/UNLOCK operation once. If REWRITE mode was selected, ECU will perform LOCK/UNLOCK operation twice at one-second intervals. If REWRITE or ADD mode was selected, go to next step. If CONFIRMATION or PROHIBITION mode was selected, go to step 6.
- Within 40 seconds of completing previous step, depress LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on new remote transmitter, simultaneously within 1.5 seconds. Within 3 seconds depress either button on remote transmitter for more than one second. Within 3 seconds, wireless door lock ECU will automatically perform LOCK/UNLOCK operation once if registration of recognition code is completed. Within 40 seconds, register any additional remote transmitters as needed and go to step 7. If recognition code received first time and second time do not match, wireless door lock ECU will perform LOCK/UNLOCK operation 2 times. If LOCK/UNLOCK operation was performed 2 times, return to step 1.
- If CONFIRMATION mode was selected, wireless door lock ECU will perform LOCK/UNLOCK operation 1 to 4 times at 2 second intervals to inform operator the number of registered codes. If CONFIRMATION mode was selected, go to next step. If PROHIBITION mode was selected, wireless door lock ECU will perform LOCK/UNLOCK operation 5 times at one-second intervals.
- Registration procedure of vehicle access code will conclude if 4 types of recognition codes are registered at the same time, door lock control is not operated for more than 40 seconds, driver's door is closed or key is inserted in ignition switch.
