Door Unlock Detection Switch

  1. Remove door panel for access to appropriate door lock assembly on driver's door or passenger's door which contains the door lock motor and door unlock detection switch. See Figure.
  2. Disconnect the 6-pin electrical connector at door lock assembly. Note electrical terminal identification on door lock assembly and switch positions. See Fig 1.
  3. On driver's door, using ohmmeter, check that no continuity exists between terminals No. 1 and 2 with switch in LOCK position and that continuity between terminals No. 1 and 2 with switch in UNLOCK position. See Fig 1. On passenger's door, using ohmmeter, check that no continuity exists between terminals No. 5 and 6 with switch in LOCK position and that continuity between terminals No. 5 and 6 with switch in UNLOCK position. See Fig 1. On all applications, replace door unlock detection switch if continuity is not as specified.
