Transmitter Range & Battery Capacity Check

Open transmitter and remove batteries. Battery should be 2.5 volts or more without a load. Under load of remote transmitter while depressing one of the buttons, voltage should be more than 2.1 volts. To test transmitter, if a known good transmitter replacement battery is not available, connect 2 new 1.5-volt dry-cell batteries in series. See Fig 1. Connect battery positive terminal to battery receptacle side terminal and battery negative terminal to bottom terminal in order to provide 3 volts to transmitter. Stand within one meter of vehicle and attempt to operate door locks by remote control. If door locks operate, replace batteries. If door locks do not operate, replace transmitter and reprogram.
