Cruise Control Systems: Operation: Notes

Depressing cruise control ON-OFF (main) button to ON position activates cruise control system. CRUISE indicator light in instrument cluster comes on to indicate activation of system. To set speed, operate vehicle at desired speed (must be more than 25 MPH). Move cruise control switch down to SET/COAST position and release. Vehicle speed will now be maintained. When desired, vehicle may be operated at a higher speed, but when accelerator pedal is released, vehicle will return to speed previously set.

To cancel preset speed, pull cruise control switch to cancel position and release. Preset speed will also cancel when brake pedal is depressed, shift lever is placed in the "N" position, vehicle speed decreases to less than 25 MPH or vehicle is operated at 10 MPH less than preset speed.

Move cruise control switch up to RES/ACC position to allow vehicle to return to speed previously set. Moving cruise control switch up to RES/ACC position and holding it gradually increases vehicle speed. Moving cruise control switch down to SET/COAST position and holding it gradually decreases vehicle speed. If switch is moved up to RES/ACC or SET/COAST and released speed will change 1 MPH.
