Inspection Procedure

  1. Check voltage between terminal CCS of ECM connector and body ground  .

    PREPARATION: 

    1. Remove the ECM with connector being connected.
    2. Turn the ignition switch on.

    CHECK: 

    Measure the voltage between terminals CCS of the ECM connector and the body ground when each control switch is operated.

    1. NG: Proceed to next circuit inspection shown in problem symptoms table. See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS   .
    2. OK: Go to next step  .
  2. Check control switch continuity  .

    PREPARATION: 

    1. Remove the steering wheel center pad.
    2. Disconnect the control switch connector.

    CHECK: 

    Measure the resistance between terminals 4 and 5 of the control switch connector when the control switch is operated.

    1. NG: Replace control switch  .
    2. OK: Go to next step  .
  3. Check harness and connector between ECM and cruise control switch, and cruise control switch and body ground. 
    1. NG: Repair or replace harness or connector  .
    2. OK: Go to next step  .
  4. Check cruise control indicator light. See  COMBINATION METER  .
    1. NG: Replace combination meter  .
    2. OK: Check and replace ECM  .
