Inspection Procedure
- Input Signal Check
- See step ) INPUT SIGNAL CHECK.
- Check the indicator light operation when each of the SET/COAST, RESUME/ACCEL and CANCEL switches is turned on.
OK:
- SET/COAST, RESUME/ACCEL switch
- The signals shown in Fig 1 should be output when each switch is ON. The signal should disappear when the switch is turned OFF .
- CANCEL switch
- The indicator light goes off when the cancel switch is turned ON
.
- OK: Wait and see.
- NG: Go to next step.
- The indicator light goes off when the cancel switch is turned ON
.
- SET/COAST, RESUME/ACCEL switch
- Check voltage between terminals CCS of cruise control ECU connector and body ground
.
- Remove the ECU with the connector being.
- Turn the ignition switch ON.
Measure the voltage between terminals 18 of the ECU connector and body ground when each of the SET/COAST, RESUME/ACCEL and CANCEL is turned ON.

- OK: Go to next step.
- NG: Proceed to next circuit inspection shown in problem symptoms table. See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS .
- Check control switch
.
- Remove the steering wheel center pad.
- Disconnect the control switch connector.
Measure the resistance between terminals 3 and 4 of the control switch connector when the control switch is operated.

- OK: Go to next step.
- NG: Replace control switch.
- Check harness and connector between cruise control ECU and cruise control switch, and cruise control switch and body ground. See HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE

- OK: Go to next step.
- NG: Repair or replace harness or connector.
- Input Signal Check. See step INPUT SIGNAL CHECK
.
- OK: Wait and see.
- NG: Check and replace cruise control ECU. See HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE .
