  1. Remove and inspect ETCS fuse (15-amp) from fusible link box. Fusible link box is located on driver's side of engine compartment. If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is blown, check for cause of fuse to blow. See WIRING DIAGRAMS article. Repair as necessary and retest.
  2. Install ETCS fuse. Access ECM on driver's side of firewall behind driver's seat, luggage compartment lids and partition board. See Figure. Using DVOM, backprobe and measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 6 (Red/Yellow wire) at ECM harness connector E5. See Figure. If voltage is 9-14 volts, replace ECM. If voltage is not 9-14 volts, repair open in power source circuit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
