EVAP Leak Test (With Hand-Held Tester Only)

  1. Connect hand-held tester to DLC3 of vehicle. See Figure. Press hand-held tester ON.
  2. Select item DIAGNOSIS/ENHANCED OBD II/SYSTEM CHECK/EVAP LEAK TEST mode on hand-held tester.
  3. Perform EVAP LEAK TEST. If any changes do not occur within 1 minute after selecting EVAP LEAK TEST, remove and install fuel tank cap, then perform EVAP LEAK TEST again.
  4. If a leak is detected during this leak test, or if DTCs P0441, P0442 and P0446 are output simultaneously, conduct a leak test again after repair. If no leak is found at this time, EVAP system recovers normal.
