Circuit Description

The crankshaft position sensor (NE signal) consists of a magnet, iron core and pickup coil. The NE signal plate (crankshaft position sensor plate No. 1) has 34 teeth and is installed on the crankshaft. The NE signal sensor generates 34 signals at every engine revolution. The ECM detects the crankshaft angle and the engine speed based on the NE signals, and the cylinder detection based on the combination of the camshaft position sensor (G2) and crankshaft position sensor (NE) signals. DTC P0335 is set when ECM does not receive input signal from crankshaft position sensor with engine cranking or with engine speed at 600 RPM or more (two trip detection logic). DTC P0339 is set when ECM does not receive input NE signal from crankshaft position sensor for 0.05 second or more with engine speed of 1000 RPM or more, (STA) fuel pump relay circuit is OFF or 3 seconds or more has lapsed after (STA) fuel pump relay circuit is switched from ON to OFF.
