Circuit Description

Park/Neutral Position switch (PNP) detects shift lever position and sends signals to ECM. DTC is set when all switches are off simultaneously for P, R, N, D, 3 and 2 positions, or 2 or more switches are on simultaneously for P, R, N, (D4) 3 and (2L) positions. Possible causes are:
- PNP switch circuit is shorted.
- Defective PNP switch.
- Defective ECM.
