Fuel Tank & Filler Pipe Air Tightness

Disconnect vent line hose from fuel tank and pressurize fuel tank to .58 psi (4 kPa). See Fig 1. Check that internal pressure of fuel tank holds for one minute. If pressure does not hold, check connected portions of each hose and pipe. Check installed parts on fuel tank including cap and/or gasket. If connections and parts are normal, replace fuel tank and filler pipe. Reconnect EVAP vent line hose to fuel tank.
