Intermittent Simulation
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 16 other vehicles, including the 2002 Toyota Tundra, 2002 Toyota Tacoma, 2002 Toyota Sienna, 2002 Toyota Sequoia, and 2002 Toyota RAV4. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
To reproduce the conditions creating an intermittent fault, use the following methods:
- Lightly vibrate component. See VIBRATION METHOD .
- Heat component. See HEATING METHOD .
- Wiggle or bend wiring harness. See VIBRATION METHOD .
- Spray component with water. See WATER APPLICATION METHOD .
Monitor circuit/component voltage or resistance while simulating intermittent. If engine is running, monitor for diagnostic trouble codes. Use test results to identify a faulty component or circuit.
