Circuit Description

Camshaft position sensor (G signal) consists of a magnet, iron core and pickup coil. G signal rotor has 3 teeth on outside and is mounted on intake camshaft. When camshafts rotate, protrusion on signal plate and air gap on pickup coil change, causing fluctuations in magnetic field and generating an electromotive force in pickup coil.

The NE signal plate (crank angle sensor plate) has 34 teeth and is installed in crankshaft. NE signal sensor generates 34 signals at every engine revolution. ECM detects standard crankshaft angle based on G signals, actual crankshaft angle and engine speed by NE signals.
