Fail-Safe Mode Chart

The ECM enters the fail-safe mode if any of the following codes are recorded, see IDENTIFYING FAIL-SAFE MODE CHART  table.

DTC No. Fail-Safe Operation Fail-Safe Deactivation Conditions
P0031, P0032, P0037 & P0038 The Heater In Which An Abnormality Is Detected Is Turned Off Ignition Switch OFF
P0100, P0102 & P0103 Ignition Timing Is Fixed At 5° BTDC Returned To Normal Condition
P0110, P0112 & P0113 Intake Air Temperature Is Fixed At 68° F (20° C) Returned To Normal Condition
P0115, P0117 & P0118 Engine Coolant Temperature Is Fixed At 176° F (80° C) Returned To Normal Condition
P0325 Max. Timing Retardation Ignition Switch OFF
P0351-P0354 Fuel Cut IGF Signal Is Detected For 2 Consecutive Ignitions
P2195 & P2196 The Heater Circuit In Which An Abnormality Is Detected Is Turned Off Ignition Switch OFF
