Front Wiper Motor

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Lexus RX 300 and 2002 Lexus RX 300. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Low Speed -  Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 5, check that the motor operates at low speed. See CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . If operation is not as specified, replace the motor. See FRONT WIPER MOTOR & LINKAGE ASSEMBLY  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. High Speed -  Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 4 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 5, check that the motor operates at high speed. See CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . If operation is not as specified, replace the motor. See FRONT WIPER MOTOR & LINKAGE ASSEMBLY  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  3. Stop Position -  Operate the motor at low speed and stop the motor operation anywhere except at the stop position by disconnecting positive (+) lead from terminal 1. See CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . Connect terminals 1 and 3. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 2 and negative (-) lead to terminal 5, check that the motor stops running at the stop position after the motor operates again. If operation is not as specified, replace the motor. See FRONT WIPER MOTOR & LINKAGE ASSEMBLY  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
