Section 249 (Charging System - Generators & Regulators - 5VZ-FE): Generator: Installation

Install Generator
1. Place the generator to the generator bracket.
2. Temporarily install the pivot bolt, adjusting slider, adjusting bolt and adjusting lock nut.

Install And Adjust Generator Drive Belt
1. Install the generator drive belt.
2. Adjust the generator drive belt tension with the adjusting bolt. See 5 under ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION.
3. Torque the pivot bolt and lock nut.
  1. Torque:
  2. Pivot bolt: 51 N.m (520 kgf.cm, 38 ft.lbf)
  3. Lock Nut: 18.5 N.m (185 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lbf)
Connect Wiring To Generator
1. Connect the cord clamp to the generator.
2. Connect the wire to the generator with the nut.
3. Connect the connector to the generator.
