Interior Light System: Inspection

  1. W/O Sliding Roof  , inspect front personal light switch continuity:
    1. Disconnect the connector front the personal light.
    2. Push the personal light switch ON, check that continuity exists between terminal 9 and body terminal 13.

  2. W/Sliding Roof  , inspect front personal light switch continuity:
    1. Disconnect the connector from the personal light.
    2. Push the personal light switch ON, check that continuity exists between terminal 1 and terminal 3.

  3. Inspect dome light switch continuity  :
    1. Disconnect the connector from the dome light.
    2. Push the dome light switch ON, check that continuity exists between terminal 3 and terminal 1.

    3. Turn the light switch to DOOR, check that continuity exists between terminal 2 and 1.

      If operation is as specified, replace the switch.

      If continuity is not as specified, replace bulb or dome light.

  4. Inspect luggage room light switch  :
    1. Disconnect the connector from the interior light assembly.
    2. Turn the interior light switch ON, check that continuity exists terminal 2 and body ground.

    3. Turn the interior light switch to DOOR, check that continuity exists between terminals 1 and 2.

      If operation is not as specified, replace the switch.

  5. Inspect door courtesy switch continuity  :
    1. Check that continuity exists between terminals and the switch body with the switch ON (switch pin released: opened door).
    2. Check that no continuity exists between terminals and the switch body with the switch OFF (switch pin pushed in: closed door).

      If operation is not as specified, replace the switch.

  6. Inspect door courtesy light continuity  :

    Using an ohmmeter, check that continuity exists between terminals.

    If continuity is not as specified, replace the light assembly or bulb.

  7. Inspect vanity light continuity  :

    If continuity is not as specified, replace the bulb or vanity light.

  8. Inspect back door courtesy switch continuity  :

    If continuity is not as specified, replace the back door lick assembly.
