Quarter Window Glass: Removal

  1. REMOVE REAR SEAT (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  2. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM 
  3. REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH 

    Using a screwdriver, remove the roof side inner garnish.

    HINT:

    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  4. REMOVE QUARTER WINDOW GLASS 
    1. Insert a piano wire between body and glass and let it pass through.
    2. Tie both wire ends to wooden blocks or similar objects.

      HINT:

      Apply protective tape to the outer surface to keep the surface from being scratched.

      NOTE: When separating the glass, take care not to damage the paint and exterior.
    3. Cut the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around it.

      HINT:

      Cut the adhesive areas as shown in Fig 3 , leaving the adhesive where the clips are.

    4. Let the piano wire pass as shown in Fig 4 , cut off the left adhesive around the clips.
      NOTE:
      • Do not damage the glass retainer.
      • When separating the glass, take care not to damage the paint and interior and exterior ornaments.
    5. Remove the glass.
      NOTE: Leave of the adhesive on the body as much as possible when cutting off the glass.
