Floor Shift Assembly: Disassembly

  1. REMOVE O/D MAIN SWITCH TERMINAL 
    1. Remove the connector from the shift lever plate.

    2. Remove the secondary locking device.
    3. Release the looking lug of the terminals 2 and 4, and pull the terminals out from the rear.

    4. Separate the O/D main switch wire harness from the 2 clamps.

  2. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Side the shift lever knob cover.
    2. Remove the 2 screws and shift lever knob sub-assembly.
    NOTE: Pay attention not to apply unnatural load onto O/D main switch wire harness.

  3. DISASSEMBLE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a small screwdriver, remove the O/D main switch cover.
    2. Using a small screwdriver, remove the O/D main switch from the shift lever knob.

    3. Insert a small screwdriver into the position in Fig 6 and disengage the claw.
    4. Remove the shift lever knob button and compression spring.

  4. REMOVE INDICATOR LIGHT 
    1. Remove the indicator light from the lower position indicator housing.
    2. Remove the cap and bulb from the indicator light wire.

  5. REMOVE LOWER POSITION INDICATOR HOUSING 

    Remove the 4 screws and lower position indicator housing.

  6. DISASSEMBLE LOWER POSITION INDICATOR HOUSING 
    1. Remove the control position indicator plate.
    2. Remove the shift lock release button and spring.
    3. Remove the slide cover.

  7. REMOVE SHIFT LOCK CONTROL UNIT 

    Remove the 2 screws and shift lock control unit assembly.

  8. REMOVE MANUAL DETENT SPRING 

    Remove the screw and manual detent spring.

  9. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SLEEVE

  10. REMOVE GROOVED PIN 

    Secure the room for the pin to be released by using the vice and etc. as shown in Fig 13 , and hit the grooved pin with a hammer and pull the grooved pin out.

    NOTE:
    • Hit and pull the pin out gradually.
    • Do not damage the shift lever sub-assembly.
  11. REMOVE DETENT ROD, COMPRESSION SPRING

  12. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a screwdriver, pry and push up the spring nut.
    2. Using nippers, cut the spring nut off it.
    3. Remove the control shaft and shift lever sub-assembly.

  13. REMOVE CUSHION 

    Remove the 2 screws and 2 cushion.

  14. REMOVE COLLAR 

    Using a screwdriver and hammer, remove the 4 collars.
