Diagnostic Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Lexus GS 430 and 2002 Lexus GS 300. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Delete DTC and insert all the presently available keys to check whether the engine starts or not. When inserting the key that does not start the engine, DTC is stored in memory. The results are OK and there is no problem, if all the keys start the engine. If the results are OK, go to the next step. The results are not good if a specific key does not start the engine. If the results are not good, go to step  3.
  2. Confirm whether or not the customer has ever inserted the unregistered key or the immobilizer key (with transponder chip) of other vehicle in the ignition key cylinder, and find out the cause of detecting DTC.
  3. Register the key that does not start the engine.
