Rear Wheel Alignment

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 16 other vehicles, including the 2002 Toyota Tundra, 2002 Toyota Tacoma, 2002 Toyota Sienna, 2002 Toyota Sequoia, and 2002 Toyota RAV4. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Measure vehicle height (see   MEASURE VEHICLE HEIGHT )  .
  2. Install camber/caster/kingpin gauge and position vehicle on wheel alignment tester  .
    1. Follow the specifications of the equipment manufacturer.
  3. Inspect camber  .
    1. Left-right error: 45' (0.75°) or less:

      If the camber is not within the specified value, adjust the camber.

  4. Adjust camber  .
    1. Loosen the camber adjust cam lock bolt.

    3. Turn the camber adjust cam to adjust the camber.
      NOTE:
      • Try to adjust the camber to the center of the specified value.
      • The camber will change about 16' (0.27°) with each graduation of the cam.
    4. Tighten the lock bolt.
      1. Torque: 113 N.m (1,150 kgf.cm, 83 ft.lbf) 
  5. Inspect toe-in  .

    If the toe-in is not within the specified value, adjust it.

  6. Adjust toe-in  .
    1. Measure the distance between each wheel disc and corner of the cam bracket, then confirm that both are the same.

      1. Lower suspension arm length difference: 1 mm (0.04 in.) or less 

        If the difference between the left and right is more than 1 mm (0.04 in.), adjust it by following the step (b) to (d).

    2. Loosen the toe-adjust cam lock bolt.

    3. Turn the toe-adjust cam an equal amount to adjust toe-in.
      NOTE:
      • Try to adjust the toe-in to the center value.
      • The toe-in will change about 2.5 mm (0.10 in.) with each graduation of the cam (both side).
    4. Torque the lock bolts.
      1. Torque: 132 N.m (1,350 kgf.cm, 97 ft.lbf)
