How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

  1. Vehicle Brought In 
  2. Symptom Check 
  3. Inspect Communication Function Of Large-Scale Body Multiplex Communication System (BEAN) 
    1. Check there is no abnormality in the communication system by inspecting the communication function of the body multiplex communication system with hand-held tester.
      1. (ECU unconnected, communication line abnormal). Without code outputs, proceed to step  4.
      2. (ECU unconnected, communication line abnormal) With code outputs, proceed to BODY MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM - DIAGNOSTICS .
  4. Diagnosis Code Check (See  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART  ) 
    1. Check diagnosis code.
      1. Without code outputs, proceed to step  5.
      2. With code outputs, proceed to step  7.
  5. Symptoms Table (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ) 
    1. Without applicable symptoms, proceed to step  6.
    2. With applicable symptoms, proceed to step  7.
  6. Perform Troubleshooting In The Following Method, Depending On Malfunction Symptom: 
    1. Pre-inspection (See PRE-CHECK )
      1. Inspection with hand-held tester (ECU DATA MONITOR)
      2. Inspection with hand-held tester (ACTIVE TEST)
    2. ECU terminal position
  7. Adjustment, Repair Or Replacement
