Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN BUS LINE (MAIN BUS LINE FOR DISCONNECTION, BUS LINES FOR SHORT CIRCUIT, DLC3 SUB BUS LINE FOR DISCONNECTION) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in DLC3 RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION TABLE  .

    Standard: 

    DLC3 RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION TABLE

    Tester connection Condition Specified value Result
    D3-6 (CANH) - D3-14 (CANL) Ignition SW OFF 54 to 67 Ω OK
    D3-6 (CANH) - D3-14 (CANL) Ignition SW OFF 67 Ω or more NG-A
    D3-6 (CANH) - D3-14 (CANL) Ignition SW OFF 54 Ω or less NG-B

    1. NG-A : CHECK CAN MAIN BUS LINE FOR DISCONNECTION (SEE  CHECK CAN MAIN BUS LINE FOR DISCONNECTION  ) 
    2. NG-B : CHECK CAN BUS LINES FOR SHORT CIRCUIT (SEE  CHECK CAN BUS LINES FOR SHORT CIRCUIT  ) 
    3. OK: Go to Next Step. 
  2. CHECK CAN BUS LINE (CAN-H) FOR SHORT TO +B 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in TERMINAL RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION TABLE  .

    Standard: 

    TERMINAL RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION TABLE

    Tester connection Condition Specified value
    D3-6 (CANH) - D3-16 (BAT) Ignition SW OFF 1 MΩ or more

    1. NG: CHECK CAN BUS LINE (CAN-H) FOR SHORT TO +B (SEE  CHECK CAN BUS LINE (CAN-H) FOR SHORT TO +B  ) 
    2. OK: Go to Next Step. 
  3. CHECK CAN BUS LINE (CAN-L) FOR SHORT TO +B 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in CAN BUS LINE (CAN-L) RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION TABLE  .

    Standard: 

    CAN BUS LINE (CAN-L) RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION TABLE

    Tester connection Condition Specified value
    D3-14 (CANL) - D3-16 (BAT) Ignition SW OFF 1 MΩ or more

    1. NG: CHECK CAN BUS LINE (CAN-L) FOR SHORT TO +B (SEE  CHECK CAN BUS LINE (CAN-L) FOR SHORT TO +B  ) 
    2. OK: Go to Next Step. 
  4. CHECK CAN BUS LINE (CAN-H) FOR SHORT TO GND 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in CAN BUS LINE (CAN-H) RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION TABLE  .

    Standard: 

    CAN BUS LINE (CAN-H) RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION TABLE

    Tester connection Condition Specified value
    D3-4 (CG) - D3-6 (CANH) Ignition SW OFF 3 kΩ or more

    1. NG: CHECK CAN BUS LINE (CAN-H) FOR SHORT TO GND (SEE  CHECK CAN BUS LINE (CAN-H) FOR SHORT TO GND  ) 
    2. OK: Go to Next Step. 
  5. CHECK CAN BUS LINE (CAN-L) FOR SHORT TO GND 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in CAN BUS LINE (CAN-L) RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION TABLE  .

    Standard: 

    CAN BUS LINE (CAN-L) RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION TABLE

    Tester connection Condition Specified value
    D3-4 (CG) - D3-14 (CANL) Ignition SW OFF 3 kΩ or more
