Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK FUSE (ECU-B FUSE) 
    1. Remove the fuse from the instrument panel J/B.
    2. Check the continuity of the fuse.

      Standard: Continuity 

    1. NG: REPLACE FUSE 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  2. CHECK TVIP ECU 
    1. Disconnect the TVIP ECU connector.
    2. Check the voltage between the terminals of the ECU connector, as shown in Fig 2 and CHECKING TVIP ECU TERMINAL VOLTAGE .

      Standard:

      CHECKING TVIP ECU TERMINAL VOLTAGE

      Test Between Terminals No. Specified Condition
      +B1 <=> (T3-2) Body ground 10 - 14 V
    1. NG: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ) 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (TVIP ECU <=> BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the TVIP ECU connector.
    2. Check the continuity between the terminal the of the TVIP ECU connector and the body ground, as shown in Fig 3 and CHECKING TVIP ECU TERMINAL CONTINUITY .

      Standard:

      CHECKING TVIP ECU TERMINAL CONTINUITY

      Test Between Terminals No. Specified Condition
      E (T3-29) <=> Body Ground Continuity
    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: CHECK AND REPLACE TVIP ECU (Refer to  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ).
