Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT 
    1. Remove the security indicator.
    2. Apply battery voltage and check that the indicator light come on, as shown in Fig 1 and MEASURING CONDITION AND OPERATION .

      Standard:

      MEASURING CONDITION AND OPERATION

      Test Between Terminals No. Operation
      Battery positive (+) <=> Terminal 2 Indicator light comes on
      Battery negative (-) <=> Terminal 1 Indicator light comes on
    1. NG: REPLACE SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (TVIP ECU <=> SECURITY INDICATOR) 
    1. Disconnect the TVIP ECU and security indicator connectors.
    2. Check the continuity between the terminals of the TVIP ECU connector and security indicator connector, as shown in Fig 2 and TERMINAL CONTINUITY SPECIFICATIONS .

      Standard:

      CHECKING TVIP ECU & SECURITY INDICATOR IND TERMINALS CONTINUITY

      Test Between Terminals No. Specified Condition
      IND (T3-25) <=> IND (S4-2) Continuity
    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SECURITY INDICATOR <=> BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the security indicator connector.
    2. Check the continuity between the terminal of the security indicator connector and the body ground, as shown in Fig 3 and CHECKING SECURITY INDICATOR CONTINUITY .

      Standard:

      CHECKING SECURITY INDICATOR CONTINUITY

      Test Between Terminals No. Specified Condition
      GND (S4-1) <=> Body Ground Continuity
    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: CHECK AND REPLACE TVIP ECU (Refer to  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ).
