Circuit Description
Throttle motor is operated by ECM and opens and closes throttle valve. Opening angle of throttle valve is detected by throttle position sensor which is mounted on throttle body. It provides feedback to ECM to control throttle motor in order to control throttle valve opening angle properly in response to driving condition. If DTC is stored, throttle valve is locked at a certain opening angle. Also, entire electronically controlled throttle operation is cancelled until system returns to normal and ignition switch is turned off.
DTC P2102 is set when throttle control motor output duty is greater than 80 percent and throttle control current is less than .5 amp for 2 seconds. DTC P2103 is also set when throttle control motor current is greater than 10 amps. It will also set when throttle control motor current is greater than 7 amps for .6 second.
Possible causes are:
- Open or short circuit in throttle control motor circuit.
- Faulty throttle body assembly (throttle motor).
- Faulty ECM.
