Code Definition

CAUTION: If Engine Control Module (ECM) replacement is instructed in following test, always ensure ECM electrical connectors and ground circuits are okay. If either are defective, repair and repeat testing to confirm ECM malfunction.
NOTE: If DTCs related to TPS, MAF meter, ECT sensor, A/C Lock sensor, HO2S & VPS are output simultaneously, the E2 sensor ground circuit at ECM 34-pin connector E7 terminal No. 28 (Black/White wire) may be open. For ECM electrical connector terminal identification, see Figure. It may be necessary to check Black/White wire between splice I3 and ECM 34-pin connector E7 terminal No. 28. Splice I3 is located behind passenger's side of instrument panel. See Figure.
NOTE: If DTCs P0441 (Purge Flow), P0446 (VSV for CCV), P0451, P0452 or P0453 (Evaporative Pressure Sensor) is set with DTCs P0442 or P0456, troubleshoot DTCs P0441, P0446, P0451, P0452 or P0453 first. If no malfunction is detected, troubleshoot DTCs P0442 or P0456 next.
