Possible Causes

This DTC uses two-trip detection logic. DTC is set if EGR valve is always open or if EGR gas temperature value is excessive when EGR is off when engine is cold. Possible causes are:
- EGR gas temperature sensor circuit is shorted.
- Defective EGR gas temperature sensor.
- EGR Vacuum Switching Valve (VSV) circuit is open.
- Defective EGR VSV.
- EGR valve is stuck open.
- Defective ECM.
