ABS Light Diagnostics

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Toyota Prius, 2002 Toyota Prius, and 2001 Toyota Prius. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: When parking brake is applied or the level of brake fluid is low, BRAKE warning light illuminates. If indicator check result is not normal, proceed to ABS WARNING LIGHT .
  1. To check for DTC, use special tool (09843-18040), connect to terminals Tc and CG of DLC3. Turn ignition switch ON. Read DTC from ABS warning light on combination meter. If no code appears, inspect ABS warning light circuit or diagnostic circuit. See ABS WARNING LIGHT  or Tc TERMINAL  under SYSTEM TESTS. If 2 or more malfunctions are indicated at the same time the lowest numbered DTC will be displayed first.
  2. For code definitions, see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS . For DTC diagnosis, see DIAGNOSTIC TESTS . After replacing or repairing components, clear diagnostic codes and disconnect special tool. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES .
