Section 358 (Charging System - Generators & Regulators): Generator: Installation

  1. Install generator  :
    1. Install the generator with the bolt and nut. See Figure.

      Torque: 39 N.m (400 kgf.cm, 29 ft.lbf)  .

    2. Connect the generator connector.
    3. Connect the generator wire with the nut and rubber.
    4. Install the cap.
    5. Install the generator wire clamp to the cord clip on the generator.
  2. Install  PS vane pump pulley  .
    3. NOTE: The pulley bolt for the belt tensioner has a left-hand thread.
  3. Install generator drive belt  .

    Install the belt by turning the belt tensioner counterclockwise. See Figure.

  4. Perform on-vehicle inspection  . See On-vehicle inspection .
  5. Install No. 2 fan shroud  .

    Install the No. 2 fan shroud with the 2 clips.

  6. Install engine under cover  .
