Circuit Description

CMP sensor consist of a 3-tooth signal plate and a pick-up coil. Signal plate is mounted on camshaft. Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor consists of a pick-up coil and signal plate. Signal plate has 34-teeth and is located on crankshaft timing pulley. DTC is set when there is a deviation between CMP sensor signal and CKP sensor signal. Possible causes are:
- Mechanical system malfunction (timing belt stretched or timing belt teeth jumped).
- Faulty ECM.
