Steering Pad Switch: Replacement

- DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL (see AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS )
- REMOVE STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER NO. 2
- REMOVE CONNECTOR COVER
- Using a screwdriver, disengage the claw (A).
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip, before use.
- Disengage the claw (B) and remove the connector cover.
- Using a screwdriver, disengage the claw (A).
- REMOVE HORN BUTTON ASSY (see DUAL-STAGE DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE )
- REMOVE STEERING PAD SWITCH
- Disconnect the connector.
- Remove the 2 screws and steering pad switch.
- Disengage the wiring 2 pins from the connector, and pull them out.
- INSTALL HORN BUTTON ASSY (see DUAL-STAGE DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE )
- INSPECT HORN BUTTON ASSY (If the horn button contact plate of the horn button assembly is deformed, replace the horn button assembly with a new one)(For Horn operation, see HORN SYSTEM ).
- INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT (See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS )
