Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK VEHICLE TYPE 
    1. Choose type to be inspected.
    VEHICLE

    Type Proceed to
    Coupe A
    Convertible B
    1. B: Go to step   8 
    2. A: Go to Next Step. 
  2. INSPECT SYSTEM 
    1. Check the system.
      1. Check if sound is heard from speakers.
    SYMPTOM

    Symptom Proceed to
    No sound is heard from front No.1 speaker assy A
    No sound is heard from front No.2 speaker assy B
    No sound is heard from both speakers C
    1. B: Go to step   5 
    2. C: Go to step   7 
    3. A: Go to Next Step. 
  3. INSPECT FRONT NO.1 SPEAKER ASSY 
    1. Disconnect the speaker connector.
    2. Resistance check
      1. Measure the resistance between the terminals of the speaker.
      NOTE: The speaker should not be removed for checking. 

      Standard: 3 to 4 Ω 

    1. NG: REPLACE FRONT NO.1 SPEAKER ASSY (SEE  REPLACEMENT  ) 
    2. OK: Go to Next Step. 
  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT NO.1 SPEAKER ASSY - STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSY) 
    1. Disconnect the stereo component amplifier assy connector S10.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in SPECIFIED CONDITION  .

      Standard: 

      SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      F6-1 - FL+ Always Below 1 Ω
      F6-2 - FL- Always Below 1 Ω
      F6-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F6-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSY (SEE  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  5. INSPECT FRONT NO.2 SPEAKER ASSY 
    1. Inspect by changing the right one with the left one, and vice versa.

      OK: Malfunction disappears. 

    HINT:

    Connect all connectors of the speakers.

    1. OK: REPLACE FRONT NO.2 SPEAKER ASSY (SEE  REPLACEMENT  ) 
    2. NG: Go to Next Step. 
  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSY - FRONT NO.2 SPEAKER ASSY) 
    1. Disconnect the connectors from the stereo component amplifier assy S10 and front No.2 speaker assy T7.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in SPECIFIED CONDITION  .

      Standard: 

      SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      T7-1 - TWL+ Always Below 1 Ω
      T7-2 - TWL- Always Below 1 Ω
      T7-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      T7-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSY (SEE  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO AND NAVIGATION ASSY - STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSY) 
    1. Disconnect the connectors from the radio and navigation assy R6 and stereo component amplifier assy S11.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in SPECIFIED CONDITION  .

      Standard: 

      SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      IVO+ - INT+ Always Below 1 Ω
      IVO- - INT- Always Below 1 Ω
      IVO+ - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      IVO- - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      SLD1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (SEE  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ) 
  8. INSPECT SYSTEM 
    1. Check the system.
      1. Check if sound is heard from speakers.
    SYMPTOM

    Symptom Proceed to
    No sound is heard from both speakers A
    No sound is heard from front No.1 speaker assy B
    No sound is heard from front No.2 speaker assy Replace front No.2 speaker assy (See REPLACEMENT )
    1. B: Go to step   11 
    2. A: Go to Next Step. 
  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO AND NAVIGATION ASSY - STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSY) 
    1. Disconnect the connectors from the radio and navigation assy R6 and stereo component amplifier assy S11.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in SPECIFIED CONDITION  .

      Standard: 

      SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      IVO+ - INT+ Always Below 1 Ω
      IVO- - INT- Always Below 1 Ω
      IVO+ - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      IVO- - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      SLD1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: Go to Next Step. 
  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSY - FRONT NO.2 SPEAKER ASSY) 
    1. Disconnect the connectors from the stereo component amplifier assy S10 and front No.2 speaker assy T7.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in SPECIFIED CONDITION  .

      Standard: 

      SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      T7-1 - TWL+ Always Below 1 Ω
      T7-2 - TWL- Always Below 1 Ω
      T7-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      T7-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: Go to Next Step. 
  11. INSPECT FRONT NO.2 SPEAKER ASSY 
    1. Inspect by changing the right one with the left one, and vice versa.

      OK: Malfunction disappears. 

    HINT:

    Connect all connectors of the speakers.

    1. OK: REPLACE FRONT NO.2 SPEAKER ASSY (SEE  REPLACEMENT  ) 
    2. NG: Go to Next Step. 
  12. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT NO.2 SPEAKER ASSY - FRONT NO.1 SPEAKER ASSY) 
    1. Disconnect the connectors from the front No.2 speaker assy and front No.1 speaker assy.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the values in Fig 11 .

      Standard:

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: Go to Next Step. 
  13. INSPECT FRONT NO.1 SPEAKER ASSY 
    1. Disconnect the speaker connector.
    2. Resistance check
      1. Measure the resistance between the terminal of the speaker.
      NOTE: The speaker should not be removed for checking. 

      Standard: 3.5 to 4.5 Ω 

    1. NG: REPLACE FRONT NO.1 SPEAKER ASSY (SEE  REPLACEMENT  ) 
    2. OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (SEE  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  )
