Inspection Procedure

CHECK OPERATION (STOP LAMP SWITCH ASSY)
1. Check that the stop light comes on when the brake pedal is depressed, and turns off when the brake pedal is released.
1. NO: INSPECT STOP LAMP CIRCUIT
2. YES: GO TO NEXT STEP.
INPUT SIGNAL CHECK
1. See input signal check in PRE-CHECK .
2. Check the indicator light when the brake pedal is depressed.
  OK:
  
  The indicator light goes off when the brake pedal is depressed.

1. OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE )
2. NG: GO TO NEXT STEP.

INSPECT TERMINAL VOLTAGE (STP-)

Measure voltage between terminal 3 (STP-) of cruise control ECU assy connector and body ground, when the brake pedal is depressed and released.

OK:

BRAKE PEDAL VOLTAGE

Brake Pedal	Voltage
Depressed	10 - 16 V
Released	Below 1 V

NG: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE )
OK: GO TO NEXT STEP.

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BETWEEN CRUISE CONTROL ECU ASSY AND STOP LAMP SWITCH ASSY)
1. Check for open and short circuit in harness and connector between cruise control ECU assy and stop lamp switch assy (See ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE ).
1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
2. OK: CHECK AND REPLACE CRUISE CONTROL ECU ASSY (See ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE ) .
